Expert Electrostatic Painting Services and the Nation’s Largest Electrostatic Painting Company.

At Electro Painting and Refurbishing, we specialize in electrostatic painting, a highly effective process for coating metal surfaces with a durable, smooth, and uniform finish. Some people may confuse electrostatic painting with electroplating, these two processes are quite different. While we don’t offer electroplating, we’re happy to guide you in the right direction if you need that service. However, if you’re looking for a long-lasting, high-quality paint finish for metal surfaces, our electrostatic painting services are the perfect solution.

Electrostatic Painting vs. Electroplating: What’s the Difference?

Many industries require metal coatings for protection, durability, and aesthetics. Two common techniques for this are electrostatic painting and electroplating, but they serve different purposes:

Electrostatic Painting:

Electrostatic painting is a process in which electrically charged paint particles are attracted to a metal surface, ensuring a smooth, uniform coat with minimal overspray. This application method uses much less paint for your project. High performance paints can cost over $500.00 per gallon and using the electrostatic painting system uses approximately half of the paint required when using conventional spray equipment. These savings go right to our clients. For metal painting, electrostatic spray equipment is perfect for storefronts, metal furniture, railings, lockers, fences, and machinery. The paint is highly durable, resistant to corrosion, and provides a uniform and near factory finish. Most important is that electrostatic painting can be performed at our client’s location.

Electroplating:

Electroplating, on the other hand, is a chemical process that coats a metal surface with a thin layer of another metal, such as chrome, gold, nickel, or zinc, using an electric current. This process is primarily used for corrosion resistance, increased durability, and decorative purposes on parts like automotive components, jewelry, and industrial equipment. Most important is that electroplating is dipped in tanks and must be performed in a plating shop. The process can’t be performed at the customer’s location.
